Google predominantly being a search engine is always concerned with the effective and instantaneous search facility. Though it renders a huge variety of services, its main identity is a search engine. With this goal in mind its creators are always modifying it. On Wednesday SAN FRANCISCO - Google Inc. upgraded its Internet search engine by adding a feature. "Google Instant," by name is said to be closest to establishing its founders' ambition to build a search engine that reads its users' minds. It will display results as soon as people begin to type their requests. In other words, Google is being able to finders’ mind as it will also try to anticipate what a person is actually searching for by typing the terms in gray letters. Moreover, Google will still offer other suggested search requests that the site has been offering for the last two years, in a drop-down box. Google co-founder Sergey Brin said Wednesday, “I think it's a little bit of a new dawn in computing,"
Criticism
Google's search formula depends mainly upon common search requests. As a result, the instant results also have a chance to be biased showing the major brands and companies during the first few characters of a request. So it is possible to dissatisfy the smaller companies or brands if people accept the quickest results that show up after typing within the first few keystrokes. Despite this potential pitfall, Google search executive Marissa Mayer said, "It's a fundamental shift to search and how people think of search,"
